While clippers are generally used for bulk hair removal, often on the head for haircuts with fading etc., Clippers have wider blades and teeth, while trimmers have finer, more closely spaced blades, allowing for precision cuts closer to the skin.
One needs both for a high quality haircut; although, one can get away by just using the clippers....which btw is not this product
