Unless you need it now I'd say wait for him to sell these via his ebay page to lock in that 2 year Allstate warranty. Broke my 3 yr old Secondipity refurbs earlier this year and got another pair a couple of months ago during the last Secondipity ebay deal for around this price. Looked brand new just like the pair I received 3 years ago.
Absolutely worth it at this price. If you can get the x5s for under $200, that's a green light too. Best ANC around, I feel.
XM6's are coming. The prices on new ones might drop.

Good point. My XM5's (from this seller) are still holding up well after 2 years but I do notice the headband sliding mechanism is getting loose on one side.

How do the XM4 compare to the Bowers and Wilkins Px7 S2? Costco has those new for $150.

Seems like ANC is better on the Sony but sound better on Bowers?

pardon my ignorance, but who is the seller you are referring to when you say, "him"? I can't figure out if there is a particular seller/shop on the secondipity page... thanks in advance

Within a couple of months of the XM5s dropping, Secondipity had a big refurbished sale for them and i believe they were like $168 and it was legit 🤯. It made no sense how the brand new hotness could have enough returns to necessitate a liquidation via a secondary seller. Needless to say that price would never be seen again for the XM5 refurbs until semi-recently and those deals seldom lasted through the day. With all of the issues with the hinge, I feel I may have dodged a bullet but still regret not getting them till this day.

Looking to get some headphones because my Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e were stolen unfortunately. I had compared them to the xm5 and I found the Bowers to be much better sounding, but their currently not on sale for the price I purchased them at and are going for around $350, so don't know what to do.....

I had the Px7 S2e which are the updated version, same driver with a updated tune. Px7 S2e sounded noticably better than the Xm5 much wider soundstage, more detailed. If you care more about noice cancelling then get the XM5. If sound quality is your priority Px7 S2 hands down not even close.

I have xm5s and my wife has xm4s, just ergonomically I prefer the xm4s because of how the fold and sit around neck when not wearing.

Their ebay page just dropped the price on the XM5 to $179.99.

They are referring to the Secondipity Ebay store where their items usually carry the Allstate 2yr warranty (where the Secondipity website doesn't offer it). https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_...econdipity

I guess the owner of secondpity. I bought my xm5s 1.75 year ago on ebay from secondpity. The hinge just broke, and I got a replacement that look brand new!

XM6 is scheduled to be released on May 15th next week. May affect these refurbished prices.

How frequent the sales happen on eBay ? I will definitely want a pair, think these make a good gym headphone ? Tried the xm5 and xm4 at target, sound difference is very similar but the cup to the ear seems more comfortable for my big head. I'll take either depending on the price differences
