Received mine today from the other post. Packaging is very nice and neat even without the original boxing. Everything is nicely wrapped. Couldn't even tell it's refurbished the way it's presented out of the box. Mic links easily with 2 AAs and the controls work great for karaoke. If you wanna use this for singing I recommend also getting the 2 mic set they have on sale at the time of this comment for $50. Love the Harman/JBL speakers and glad their refurb stuff aren't junk.

If I'm going to use as karaoke, is it better to get the JBL PartyBox On-the-Go Essential + the two mic? or just get this? I guess what I'm saying is can they do the same thing and what's the difference
You would need two mics for good karaoke nights. I was thinking to buy two of these so it gives stereo effect and use the two mics that comes with them rather than buying additional mics separately

I have 2 encores without the mics . I hook theme up through a mixer. You get stereo by linking them but the voice only comes out of one speaker.

Should I get the essential or encore if I just use it for home karaoke?

If you're looking for a second microphone, you'll have to buy it from their customer service. There is another deal happening right now with two mics and a wireless receiver - the receiver will not fit this model.

What makes you say the other deal with two mics won't work? The description on that one says it will work with the "JBL Partybox speakers."

Have one. The audio quality is waaaay better than I expected. You can listen to jazz and classical and it still sounds great. My smaller JBL Charge 4 cannot do that.

Would this be good for the ball field? My Sonos move isn't loud enough

AI tells me not much difference

PartyBox On-The-Go can reach a maximum volume of around 100 dB, while the Sonos Move typically tops out around 96 dB

I bought the 2 mics and receiver in the past, but the receiver does not fit the Party Box On the Go correctly. https://www.reddit.com/r/JBL/s/rTpQkVkeV1

but like some commenters said its possible to keep one mic tucked away and use one of the two mics from the pack to pair without having to use the dongle right? just keep it close to the speaker ? If you bought the set can u verify?

I would do the encore.

Sound pressure is based on a logarithmic scale, 4db is about 3 times as intense, while not perceptible as 3x as loud the difference would be noticeable.
