In comparison, for $9.88 Sam's Club has Platinum 96 oz. (0.11 fl. oz) fresh rain on sale until 6/1. https://www.samsclub.com/p/dawn-p...od24541336

This Amazon deal is Ultra 112 oz (0.13 fl. oz) original with S&S. Costco's online price for Platinum 96 oz. is $14.49 (0.16 fl. oz) with delivery. May be cheaper in store. https://www.costco.com/Dawn-Plati...71695.html

From a random website:
What's the Difference Between Dawn Ultra and Platinum? The Short Answer
The main difference between Dawn Ultra and Platinum is that Platinum has a more concentrated formula. According to Dawn, Platinum cleans faster and contains four times more cleaning ingredients than non-Ultra Dawn products.

Due to its concentrated formula, Dawn Platinum is more expensive than Ultra. However, you don't need to use as much of it — all you need is a tiny drop for most dishes.

It was meant to be funny which I now realize wasn't. When I saw "Just in time for Mother's Day," I thought they were talking about buying it as a gift and that they were also joking. I repped them saying their comment was funny. But maybe they're critically low on dish soap and plan to use Amazon expedited delivery, so this deal was perfect timing for doing dishes after a party or barbecue honoring the person (a form of gift). No, I didn't and wouldn't buy household cleaning items for a wife as a gift, which most likely isn't at the top of their wish list, unless that's something they enjoy. And yes, I've always known I'm not funny, but in my head I sometimes think I am and I crack myself up. I haven't found a cure yet.

But your point is well-taken, exclamation mark and all. Even so, I wasn't aware that there was a hard rule about treating someone with kindness. Each family has their own traditions. Here are a few reasons found online why a husband may choose to give his wife a Mother's Day gift.
  • She is the mother of your children
  • She deserves to be honored and acknowledged
  • You are teaching your children how to treat her
  • It lets her know you validate and love her
  • It validates her role in the family
  • It will make her feel special
  • It will strengthen your relationship
On the other hand, you will now have started a gift-giving tradition. There are other ways people may choose to acknowledge and make a wife or husband (Father's Day) feel special. I'm sure there's a list for that as well, and that there are no hard rules for those either.

Cool story bro…

I don't like Kirkland dish soap. We have a pump dispenser and the Kirkland dries up in a blob on the nozzle and then it makes a mess when you go to pump more soap. The Dawn doesn't do that and functions great as an actual detergent.
The Sam's one gets clogged in a regular "Dawn bottle" screw top. It's actually too thick. I watered it down just a tiny bit (like 5%) with distilled water (our tap water is extremely hard, reducing effectiveness of soaps, also distilled won't go rancid/moldy as easily), so maybe the Kirkland version would also work better thinned down a little.

The Sam's Club, Walmart, and Aldi versions are slightly different but they all work reasonably well. It's been a very long time since I've used brand Dawn so I can't even say how much better or worse they are than it. We do not have a local Costco so I don't know what theirs is like.

The BJ's generic dish soap is a bottle of blue water and utterly worthless.

I'm down to the last quarter bottle of my original Dawn dish soap stockpile I bought since 2020 covid pandemic. I sniffed the newer Dawn and Kirkland bottles and they smell repugnant! Is there another alternative replacement?

It was very funny. I'm on SD 6-8 times a day. I'm here for the jokes, comments and deals. Don't stop the humor.

Seems like a good deal...but liquids don't ship well through Amazon. 50/50 chance it shows up leaking or broken...I will pass, though.

Any idea how you'd compares to Costco brand? Need to buy today ha..

This deal is for Ultra. I believe Costco has Platinum?

Its Platinum or nothing. No dish soap comes close to Dawn Platinum. Its the leader in the game and by a wide margin. The Ultra in this deal is pitiful in comparison.

Def stopped using dawn after they changed their scent. It's horrible
I've read many reviews about this. THis is too bad companies do stuff like this. I guess if enough people stop buying their product they'll figure things out.

Which brand you use now? The Palmolive from Costco is no good on cleaning. TIA.

Aldi dish soap still comes out to be 3 cents per oz cheaper for me.

Dawn Platinum is highly concentrated compared to most other dish soaps I've used. I'd have to use 2X to 3X more soap of some other brands like Ajax and most store brands to clean the same about of dishes and I factor that into my costs.

same here. the new scent is disgusting. I don't know who they think it appeals to. I was a dawn only guy for years, had to switch to Ajax Orange. nowhere near as repulsive smelling and cleans pretty well.

So Dawn Platinum is the way? What about the smell issues noted?
