Can't say I've ever seen anyone call 1080p "2K" but I guess it's technically true...

It is just a freaking 16:10 equivalent of 1080p. Calling it 2k and mixing it with qhd is ridiculous

Nobody is mixing it with QHD. Go read about laptop displays and resolutions first and then you can throw an unnecessary temper tantrum.

With the m4 air at the high end of my laptop looking, is this a good buy for the price? So many of these deals seem to be passed over Acer, ASUS, and Lenovo hesitant options.

It's not true. Because 2k is higher than 1440p and this isn't anywhere near as good as that. 1920x1200 is simply as others have said a 16:10 version of 1080p instead of 16x9

Apparently, Costco will have a better configuration [costco.com] on sale starting on Wednesday for $550. You get a Ryzen AI 7 350, a 1TB SSD and a 2nd year warranty for $20 LESS than this deal.

I got this info in the parallel thread:

Costco will have the 16gb/1TB version for $550 in a few days I think is otherwise the same.

You can spend $20 less on the Omnibook 5 16" from Costco with the faster 8-core Ryzen AI 7 350 (vs the 6-core Ryzen AI 5 340 in this model), twice as much storage (1 tb vs 512 gb) and the faster integrated graphics (Radeon 860m / 8cu vs Radeon 840m / 4 CU)... plus you get an extra year of warranty via Costco.

No reason to buy this from Staples, it's inferior in every way to the same laptop with better specs and warranty from Costco for $550.

I dont have to be a member?

edit: nevermind. This is the laptop that has like a 62 percent srgb screen. Not interested anymore.
