It does not make sense to make it looks ugly. They use dark colour material to hold the zip in the front pocket. As a result, it like a misplaced short black tie in the front. They can use any lighter colour instead.

I like the design of the gray and black stretch jackets, but my main concern is I'm unable to match these jackets to any Reebok item sold elsewhere.

They are kinda ugly. Except for the black. Also, I can't seem to quite figure out exactly what differentiates the two different types? BTW....These are clearance items, so YMMV.

Thanks for the info. Besides using the "cheap materials", are both variants true to size? I bought a light weight jacket like this from Eddie Bauer in the past. That one had high rating in reviews. That jacket turned out to be a piece of average quality plastic (polyester). I was disappointed to have paid $30 after discount and coupon. And I don't trust the reviews from Eddie Bauer anymore.
