I don't have this specific laptop, but I have the Lenovo Yoga Aura version of the 258v 32gb lunar lake chip that this has.

Its an astoundingly great platform for business and light gaming with unbelievably efficient power usage. I was just at a trade show today for work with this and was running videos, autocad files, typing work emails continuously and the battery was still 25% after 8 hours without plugging in.

Gaming is pretty decent. Played Galactic Civ iV on a plane trip and it was very smooth. Same with Stellaris and Surviving Mars. Yeah these games are not AAA advanced, but they would make mince meat of my old 3050 ti gaming laptops batteries in 30 minutes.

Also because the charger is the same as most smartphone chargers (65w) you can use airplane usb power supplys or outlets without tripping it. Most big gaming laptops with their 400w bricks trip all the breakers on the planes.

Read really good stuff about the LG Gram laptops, but wanted to pipe in regarding just how awesome the 258v lunar lake platform is for laptops.
Wow. A 17" laptop at 3.22 lbs!? Nice.

I have a 17" 13th gen i7 LG Gram. Paid 699. It's wonderful. In my sea of macbook airs/pros and surface laptops and studios, it's my favorite go-to machine for personal use.

The weight truly is a game changer.

Yup, this is why MSI put Lunar Lake in their handheld PC gaming console. It is the most energy efficient chip there is for x86 gaming.

Can anyone tell what type of screen this is? For example: IPS, LED, or OLED? I can't find details about the panel type anywhere

Update: Here's the link to it on the LG website https://www.lg.com/us/laptops/lg-...#pdp_specs

It doesn't specify the panel type, but all LG Gram laptops are apparently either IPS or OLED. Since this one doesn't explicitly say OLED, I'm guessing it's IPS

Depends on how exactly you travel, etc. Personally I love the 2in1 version of gram. It's a 16" screen, which is essentially the same thing, but the 2in1 format allows you to flip the screen all the way back and turn it into a tablet or set it on your little table on a plane as a tent, etc. But overall these are great for travel, very light and thin, yet pretty sturdy, I've had mine for about 2 yrs with no issues flying twice a month on average.

They are still using that crap chassis and garbage 60hz screen. Be ware very bad touchpad placement and owner hate it. I have owned the 1360p version for $899 from Costco about 1 or 2 years ago. Nothing is good other than the super light.

Well, it's a 17" so it's still going to be physically sizable. But, lighter for sure. Will it be a performant productivity machine? Absolutely.

Some don't like it and some do (trackpad placement). Personally, I was concerned based on reviews but have had zero issues with placement. And to say the weight is the only good thing, when the battery last forever, is disingenuous.

I own an older version of this. Agree it is astoundingly light for the screen size.

However, whether the trackpad is poorly positioned or poorly calibrated, it constantly interferes with my productivity. I will be typing and all of a sudden the cursor is somewhere else on the page. Infuriating.

As much as I love the portability, I would never buy one of these again.
