This is cheaper than just the 12pk bands and lids (~$10).... Might be worth it for that alone, but I've never wanted to can/freeze such a small qty as this; 8oz is 1 cup. Maybe freezing pesto or something?

I ordered jars with lids from Walmart before. When they arrived, more than half of the rings were unusable because they were dented.

I use jars this size to hold borax + sugar + gelatin ant bait. Bang a few slits in the lid with a screwdriver or nail to let the critters in.

Why gelatin? Doesn't it work without it. Is it necessary?

Yep even Ball Jars have horrible quality control

If im rolling the dice on a cheap jar it's ball, there are other thicker walled alternatives you can google but they are much more expensive

Many ants like sugar but some like protein.

Oh, so the gelatin is the protein they like. I never thought of that. Sometimes I have ants that won't go for the terra ant bait. Makes sense now

Have to ship, but shipping minimum is $35. That's the problem with Walmart
