I brought my gas-powered auger and we did 55 holes in a couple hours. I couldn't imagine using a battery auger for anything other than small holes for plants, and even then there are much cheaper ways to do that.

I brought my gas-powered auger and we did 55 holes in a couple hours. I couldn't imagine using a battery auger for anything other than small holes for plants, and even then there are much cheaper ways to do that.

I agree with others though: This battery powered Auger doesn't make sense. For $70 more you can get the Harbor Freight PREDATOR Gas-Powered Earth Auger. For about $100 per day you can rent one from Home Depot. Both will work better, faster, and easier. I actually really like electric tools, but our battery tech just isn't there yet for certain jobs which this is one.
A drill can do the job, but puts strain on your wrist, and if you hit a snag you could injure yourself. The handles on this auger allow you to use both hands with more leverage, providing better torque and decreasing the chances of injury.
