I purchased one of these a year or two ago. Also refurbished, SE, from eBay. I believe the price was the same too. It arrived looking brand new. The only tell was plain packaging, and it was marked refurbished on the box iirc. Solid speaker, still going strong with pretty regular use. Yes it is mono, but I don't find that problematic for how these speakers are usually used. It still sounds great for what it is, battery life is great, and build quality is solid. If speakerphone is needed you may want to pay a little extra for the non SE version. Other than that, they are supposed to be identical.
I forgot to add that because there is a port on the back of the speaker, it is pretty sensitive to positioning. It sounds quite different when placed on its back VS upright, or away from the wall VS closer to the wall.

Pair multiple devices with multipoint ,? Does the second device have to be a Bose ? Can I pair any other bt speaker with this or does it have to be another Bose product? I have a onn retro glow (boom box) I keep in the back seat of a 69 skylark conv that I love the look get a ton of compliments but wish it was a bit louder especially on the hw. Can I pair my onn with this Bose ?

No. Only certain Bose speakers are compatible with the SoundLink Flex SE for Party Mode or Stereo Pairing.

You can pair it with the following models:

• Bose SoundLink Flex SE
• Bose SoundLink Flex (Gen 1)
• Bose SoundLink Micro
• Bose SoundLink Color II
• Bose SoundLink Revolve
• Bose SoundLink Revolve+

You cannot pair it with the Flex (Gen 2) or SoundLink Max.

These paired in stereo sound very good, and they can produce an excellent sound stage. Sound stage individually is pretty good too. They are a bit bass heavy, which I find annoying running one at lower volumes. But at moderate volumes they sound more balanced.

Those whining about this being mono, even if it was stereo, emanating from one box, even with dsp, it's not going to create a nice stereo separation. No single unit Bluetooth speaker does. It's a decent speaker at this price.
