I was one of those weird kids who kind of liked Ys III, although mostly for its music. The gameplay itself was a change of pace from Zelda and Final Fantasy, and it was nice to try something different. In fact, Ys III led me to try Lagoon which was one of my favorite SNES games before I developed taste.

For me, Oath in Felghana (PSP version) was a very nice return to the world of Ys III. The gameplay was completely changed, the story was refined, and it added voice acting-- a welcome addition. I quite enjoyed playing Oath, but it was tied to my PSP so I was limited to the small screen.

Enter Memoire, a modern day remaster of Oath. Though it wasn't my first time experiencing the story, I still thoroughly enjoyed playing through it. The wife and I played through it together (I played, she watched), so I just asked her, without context, how she felt about it for this comment.

Her exact words, "... I liked it. Why?"

That's a pretty glowing endorsement from her

In the end, it's not my favorite game, and probably won't be yours either, but I think it's worth a play through. $35 is probably the right price for it.

Any reason this isn't getting more attention? Seems like a slick deal for an above average game in a deluxe edition.

I saw that, but with these types of Switch releases, they tend to end up selling out and gaining value. Maybe they overprinted them this time.
