Holy crap, this is great. I paid ~$2,300 last June for an M3 Max 36GB/1TB 14" MBP from MC. No regrets. Same $$ here for +12GB RAM.

Interestingly, according to CPUBenchmark.net, M4 Pro 14c beats M3 Max 14x overall (38,228 vs. 36,663), but M3 Max has ~4.6% better single core speed. Pretty impressive on the part of the M4 Pro. Fantastic machine. 48GB would be amazing.

Best Buy matched Microcenter Tustin CA price today for my mbp M4 pro 20 core even though store is hundreds of miles away. Bought BB+ membership for 60-day return/price match and can cancel it on 59th day for full membership refund

The 16" is now the same price ($2,229) with the same chip and ram but 512gb if you are looking for a bigger screen.

Anyone know is the open box good? It doesn't show much details but says REMAINING MANUFACTURER WARRANTY APPLIES. Would appreciate any insights on the risks of open box vs. new. Thanks!

FWIW I got an open box on eBay - same specs except with 2TB instead of 1TB and nano-texture for $2450+tax…
