If anyone has an older Dyson with battery issues, you are MUCH better off getting a Ryobi battery converter for your Dyson. They are cheap, easy to install, and work great.

Two of my Ryobi stick vacs died so I gave up on them. Bought a $15 adapter, installed it on my Dyson v7, and now I can use my six Ryobi 4ah HP batteries on my Dyson. It breathed new life into my dead Vacuum.

The Dyson batteries weren't Li-Ion for a long time (not sure about now), so they because trash quickly. With a Ryobi adapter, you get interchangeable batteries and lithium ion too for cheap.
That statement would not be correct.

I have this vac. It's perfectly acceptable for carpet and flat floor (not sure about tile & grout) with dirt, dust and dog hair. What it is absolutely rubbish with is fluff from dog toys. There are no number of passes on carpet that this vacuum will pick up even the smallest amount of poly-fil from dog toys. My house has a fairly constant supply of this, so I use it mainly in the basement and garage on concrete floors.

bought this a few years ago i think. when it was 2,4,6ah batteries and vacuum deal. use it for kitchen and dining room cleaning. works well enough for me. havent had issues personally. the 2ah battery is useless for it, the 4ah go pretty quick.

I would not get this. The way the vacuum bends means the hose that goes into the vacuum floor head gets a lot of stress and mine ripped after 6 months. The warranty is a joke and Ryobi basically said good luck.

It is those incline floors you have to worry about 😂

mine arrived yesterday. seems to work very well. but time will tell. we have the previous model and my wife threw away all her other vacs when we got it. she loves that thing, gets used daily. so easy to use and we have a basketful of 4 ah batteries so it never running out of juice. even the kids like to use it, so she's always looking for it when she needs it. so i bought this so we can keep one on each floor of the house. Plus, i always need more batteries!

Can't comment on this exact model but I have the 719k stick vac and it replaced my dying Dyson v7 no issues. The HP batteries do make a noticable difference compared to the standard batteries. It also came with the evercharge wall mount which is very nice.

I don't know if I have an identical model but I have a Ryobi 18v stick vacuum that I use weekly. It does a decent job on hard surfaces and low pile carpets but it only cleans at the surface level on carpet. I have two dogs (black labs) and it does well at getting the surface hair but I can run my corded Dyson Animal Ball 3 immediately after running my Ryobi on carpet and the Dyson will get more hair out of the carpet. I do like using the Ryobi on stairs and furniture as it is much easier to use a stick vac than to try to use the tools on the corded vac. One thing I don't like is the clip that makes the Ryobi stand up on its own snapped awhile back and there's no good way to replace it so now it has to lean on something - not a huge deal but an annoyance. Also, I need to use a 4ah battery every time, if I use a 3ah HP or anything smaller then the vac likes to stop and complain that the battery is dead but the battery meter says it's fine.

The stand-up tab broke off on ours also. Ryobi sent us a replacement, but it's the same design, so I guess we'll have to baby it really well to keep it from happening again.
