If anyone has an older Dyson with battery issues, you are MUCH better off getting a Ryobi battery converter for your Dyson. They are cheap, easy to install, and work great.

Two of my Ryobi stick vacs died so I gave up on them. Bought a $15 adapter, installed it on my Dyson v7, and now I can use my six Ryobi 4ah HP batteries on my Dyson. It breathed new life into my dead Vacuum.

The Dyson batteries weren't Li-Ion for a long time (not sure about now), so they because trash quickly. With a Ryobi adapter, you get interchangeable batteries and lithium ion too for cheap.

Any experience with these? We have an old Dyson that partner wants replaced. I already have several Ryobi batteries but does this think suck good?

The vacuum is definitely not better than the new dyson. I would say they are around like a v8 in terms of suction power. It is great for basic stuff. I have mine in the garage for garage things. That is where my ryobi batteries are anyways. I still use my dyson in the house.

Was going to order the battery deal someone posted, but saw they weren't HP. These are the HP batteries and a $134 (reg price) vac, so I'm taking a chance. Will know how it works tomorrow when I get it

I have one of these vacuums and they are great for normal day to day vacuuming of carpets and hardwood floors.

I'm unable to provide feedback for how it works with pet hair or other uses.

Vacuum time is a little short but we have a lot of Ryobi 18v batteries so we just switch them out easily.

I have this vacuum. Got it for like $160 off of DTO at like the only time it was "on sale."
It has been a very good vacuum! We have a carpeted hallway and it does more than good enough for daily stuff.

I tried this and returned it, I gotta say for around house. I much prefer the hart or hoover vacuums.

got mine from Walmart for like 75 bucks, they are great.

Probably better to compare the Dyson with the PBLSV719. I have this one and like it, though it costs quite a bit more than the one in this post.

I have this vac and think it works quite well for even carpeted areas. You'd be surprised how much it picked up when you look at the canister. Just turn off the brush for hardwood or other bare floors.

I wish these could charge when mounted. Seems like a hassle to swap batteries.

It's heavier with 4ah batteries. Definitely heaver than the cheaper stick vacums but at least it stands up straight on it's own.

Things that broke on us were the plastic piece that makes it stand on it's own and the wheels. Thats why you see people selling 3d printed replacement wheels. The plastic canister can get cracked easily. The motor is the only good thing about it. It does use a lot of battery at the high setting. I suggest the low setting for hard surfaces.

Direct Tools has the reconditioned (non HP) 2ah battery, charger, and vacuum for $90 once in a while but the last time I ordered it from them they had no packing in the box at all so the canister was cracked. Returned for a full refund.

I'm thinking about trying generic stick vacs that use Dewalt batteries. They are like $50 and generic dewalt batteries are cheaper than the Ryobi generic batteries.

I like mine. Got it last June in a deal like this. Wanted the HP batteries and was curious about the vacuum. It works well on both light carpet and hardwood floors. It handles dog hair well. I'd say it's a little below the newest Dyson stick vacuums in performance but you don't have to worry about the battery wearing out. My relatives with Dyson seem to replace theirs every 4-5 years because of battery issues. Not much luck with the 3rd party replacement batteries for them. Since I have a ton of the ryobi tools, it's easy to swap batteries when one gets low and it's the preferred vacuum for my wife and kids now. The corded Dyson only comes out for deep cleaning .

I have the previous generation and the included everchanger wall charger is the best thing about it, too bad this one doesnt have that.

That statement would not be correct.
