This brand was the premium option when you ordered a new Gateway computer tower and monitor.

I own two of the higher end Altec Lansing waterproof speakers and both had batteries that wouldn't hold a charge after 1-2 years. I thought the sound was decent, but there are far better choices these days at any price point.

These Altec Lansing speakers are durable and heavy duty, you can probably use them as hammers or meat tenderizers, but when it comes to sound quality there are much better options.

Two Q's:
1) is the some trick to getting price down? I see it $60+. What am I missing?
2) I just broke my last speaker doing yard work because I'm not nice to my things.. Soundcore2 clear winner on audio - would this be better for backyard speaker if I expect it to be knocked off 6' fence onto pavers and left in a rain puddle? (Hypothetically..)
