Funny- I see it is now. But before I posted this it was $350. I looked there before buying from Walmart.

The three 20TB drives I shucked have been WD200EDGZ. Two were -11BLDS0 and one was -11B9PA0.

Did you buy them all together or in separate batches? How do those versions compare to eachother, is one/some more desirable than the other(s)?

I suspect over inventorues are the reason we are seeing price drops.. the rush to get goods in tye usa before tariffs leads to supply chain gluts.. but what is not known yet is the extend of price gouging on the back end once the flow tries to normalize..

The Seagate 18tb externals from seagate.com with 10% discount is $198, and they have been exos drives.

I get it, these could be exos but I've been burned by Seagate so many times over 30 years I just can't trust them. Hope they last for you.

I'm looking at one now. It is a WD200EDGZ. Here's a good discussion on the drive. Easystore and Elements internals are the same:

WD just had the same price on their store. You can get a 15% off coupon if you send in an old drive to them for recycling. https://www.westerndigital.com/co...sy-recycle. I got this drive for $238 after recycling an old 256gb drive. Seems the cheapest route.

WD shows $350 for this drive. But I hadn't heard of their recycling program, so next time I will look there.

That link describe there are differences to the firmware of the two drive which the data throughput is throttles down by 30%.....

And it is not that easy to change the firmware for most people(?) So sounds like the speed is not the same(?)

shucked but I had to use the "tape one of the power pins trick" to get it to get recognized in my desktop win pc. so keep in mind if it doesn't work.
