I bought this tablet on Aliexpress a month ago for $220 (its called a Xiaoxin pad pro 2025 there). Its been an amazing tablet. its kinda big but plays games really well the GPU in it is very powerful. the dimensity 8300 is the MediaTek equivalent of snapdragon 8 gen 1 for those wondering. So think older flagship performance.
I have a Tab P12 and it goes dark in portrait mode.

I think that depends more on your connection. Im running Apollo/moonlight on Chromecast/laptop/phone/steamdeck and I'm getting pretty much the same results. 144hz is good since Apollo matches the resolution/frames

According to the review on pcmag the decoding time is 18-20ms. That's pretty awful unfortunately.

I'm almost pulled the trigger on this tablet but also have the same use case. I'm trying to get a tablet with fast moonlight decoding and video out. Unfortunately it seems like the only choices are more expensive (Samsung tab s9 or M3 iPad air for 500-600)

Best buy open box tab s9 256gb with 12 gb ram constantly goes around 350-500. I managed to get one with a tab a9+ (60$ trade in) excellent condition, 360ish

I use Apollo/Artemis combo on my G-fold 6, Nothing 3a, and Amazon Fire Max(Toolbox was applied), and the experience are the same. I play Monster Hunder Wilds with the Xbox controller(via bluetooth), and the experience is very similar with playing in front of the PC. As CalvinZ3161 said, I think the most important thing is your connection, rather than the tablet's specs.

Is there a way to tell if the screen will go dark in either portrait or landscape with polarized sunglasses on? I need a tab that doesn't go dark with polarized sunglasses on. I know it's a strange thing but a must have for what I need.

Is this a good atlernative as a drawing tablet compared to an standard iPad? I want to get one for my son who is an avid artist to start drawing on digital medium. I looked at an iPad but those are $300+ and then you have to buy the Apple pencil for another $100+.

Kinda big is the whole reason to get this tablet instead of one of Lenovo's smaller cheaper tablets. I use 12 inch tablets to display my sheet music since my music stand is a couple of feet away from me when I am playing.

Depends a lot on what software you are using. Your favorite iPad app may not have a version for this tablet.

Do you have a recommendation for 12+" tablets for sheet music? I've been looking at options for this but don't want to shell out $300 if I don't have to. Especially if I can print on paper for a fraction of the cost 😄

You might be able to find the older Lenovo P12 for a little less, but beware of the end of support date on older tablets. I've never seen a decent 12 inch tablet for less than $250.
