Keep in mind "cool" just means air flow fan, not AC. bought one of these similar refurbs - the mini led screen thing blew out with a few months left on the warranty, Allstate just sent me a check-super simple process. Fan itself is still going strong - just needs a new filter changes

It was automatic, when you purchase the item, eBay sends you an email with links if you need to file a claim, then just follow the steps. That email was pretty much the proof of warranty
I bought one a couple of months ago on the same deal. It was repackaged but otherwise appears new. It seems to work great for both air and heat, and it's very quiet. My only complaint is that I had hoped for a substantial reduction in dust on surfaces in my bedroom, but there still is quite a bit of particulate matter that settles before it gets to the Dyson.

I have the "circle" blade version of this fan and I find I can't keep it on auto- I need to run it manually around speed 6-10 to make a difference. I run the fan in conjunction with a robot vac in our bedroom daily and its dust free. Used to have crippling sinus infections every spring and this combo cured it.

I have bought 4 Dyson purifiers, 3 vacuums. 3 of purifiers work great, looked brand new, came in plain brown box. One of the purifiers had an issue with the sensor where it would never turn off when in auto mode. I am taking it local Dyson service center to be repaired. One of the vacuums I got had a faulty canister that was really hard to open, they sent me a brand new canister a few days later. Overall it was a good experience, you gamble a little but you do save a lot of money. I only buy my Dyson stuff as refurbished.
