Make sure this will work in your case because the modular connectors have been "Shifted" from the back to the side. Otherwise seems a good deal.

Yeah make sure this works in your case - it probably won't in many.

i do not understand the purpose of this thing. you would need a really girthy case to use this, especially if you plan on using the 12 pin fire hazard cable.

They have a pretty good explanation of why these exist here: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/exp...hift-psus/

Also plenty of examples of (Corsair) cases that are compatible, and a picture of the expected cable routing. I'll agree that it's odd, but not completely crazy.

EDIT: Oh dang, and a whole separate guide here to determine if it'll fit in your case: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/exp...n-my-case/

Yeah. This PSU definitely is situational but in the right case it's an interesting option to have. In my Cool Master Qube 500 case it would make clearance problems for the cables and larger GPUs easier and it has plenty of space for the cables to come out the side. I've got a while build so would definitely pass on this deal but might consider the white version.

I have this one in 2 different set ups and it works well. Just pay attention when buying it and make sure it'll work for you. Good solid PSU.

Also, they use Corsair Type 5 cables (instead of the more common Type 4 on Corsair RMx). So, if you want alternative cables like Cablemod or need extra cables - buy the correct type. Connectors on Type 5 from the PSU side are much smaller. Sellers sometimes get confused, too - I had to return some cables already.
