Anyone have any real world experience with these? Reviews are mixed if you read them.

No, Switch 2 uses microSD Express cards only. It's going to be a while before those drop in price (though they inevitably will).

How does this compare with the deal on the Samsung 512 GB Pro Plus that was on sale for $29.99 earlier this month?

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C1Q79...rce=avft-a

Which one is better in performance and reliability/durability?

The Samsung is going to be better by far.

Not by far by default for everything. It depends what you're using it for. If it's for a Pi, they're all the same as long as the speed rating is up to snuff and its a legitimate card. If it's for a camera, Lexar is fine. If it's 4k video, go with the Samsung.

Mixed? There are nearly 7k reviews averaging 4.7 out of 5, which is outstanding. What are you on about.

As I said, READ the reviews. Confirmation bias is real.

I agree that the Samsung cards are better. I'd also avoid Amazon for memory cards as that is an item often counterfeited on the 'zon.

Yes, you can use this on Switch 2. The difference is you wont benefit from the much faster loading speeds of the express version.
Very incorrect. You cannot use anything but microSD Express cards for gaming on the Switch 2, including playing Switch 1 games.

microSD cards can be used for screenshots and videos that you captured on Switch 1, but never for gaming on the Switch 2.

That is incorrect.

This is directly from Nintendo's website:

"Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards."
