If I would've listened to silly advice like this I wouldn't have bought my perfectly fine G1 from Best Buy ages ago lol
I bought an open box cx from bb few years back. It looked brand new. Almost no hour on it. I asked the rep to let me plug it in and check the hours at the store. It's still rock solid!

I have no issue with refurb in most cases, but a unit this size would be a big hassle to bring home, test and bring back.
Idk. I paid over a thousand more for my brand new c4. I'd still like an extra $1k to make sure my tv is good and with an extra warranty, who cares. They can replace it. Value for time. If you can make $400/hr then this isnt worth your time in case of an issue. But if you can at worst case spare two hours for a tech to come and swap it for a new one then it is worth the savings imho.
Same. Got a refurbished 77" C1 from MC when $2k was a great deal. I still don't even want to upgrade it because it's so pretty.
Seems discount price is for pickup option only. Also for all open box haters, that's why extra warranty is listed. My display model C8 from 6 years ago running fine. Just do your initial inspections thoroughly and run the burn in test from YouTube
