I remember that deal, took forever. But honestly, for 50% off it's worth the wait. I've seen a lot of slickdeals on gift cards in my time, but that was by far the slickest I've ever seen. Never seen a 50% gift card for any restaurant.

If this is going to be another long wait, I'm out. Too long wondering if it's ever going to actually show up. And if it doesn't show up in 2 months, what am I really going to do then? I'm out unless people are getting these in the same day. Digital delivery shouldn't take long at all. Sounds like some people are getting this one delivered within minutes? Is anyone not getting (this deal) today?

Just correcting a bit of misinformation in the post. The deal isn't limited to two $50 cards but rather $100 (face value) total, and it doesn't require multiples of $50 but rather a minimum of $50 to get 30% off. For example:
  • I bought a single $100 card and got $30 off.
  • Also tried adding 10x $10 cards ($100 total) and it also took $30 off.
  • Adding 12x $5 cards ($60 total) got $18 off.
Looks like the minimum to trigger the discount is $50, but after that it will take 30% off up to a max of $30 discount per order, but you can place multiple orders. 🙂

Can I get the gift card (saving $15), buy food after claiming a deal through Upside and get 20% cash back or will it give me a "looks like you have gotten another discount" message? That right there would take it down to about $25 I spent on the $50 card. I'll have to think about that.

I ran into that and after changing my EMAIL address, my card went through fine. My best guess is that the first email address I tried (and use everywhere) had a (-) dash in the domain name and the one that worked did not. Might be something to try (and something for this company to maybe fix).

It's almost mandatory if you goto Carl jr…. They've jacked their prices to account for the gift cards so if you don't get the gift cards you're essentially paying 200%

I think that would work. How is Upside going to know you got the giftcard for a discount. Hell of a Slick Deal if so..

Just a warning. I purchased a $50 digital card a few days ago. I went to use it in the app and in store and both were rejected. I then went to their website to check my balance and the API responded with a 403 forbidden error. I contacted support and they told me the card is indeed valid. I woke up today and checked my balance and it works again.

They may have some shaky software development at Carl's Jr and your card will not always work.

Okay, I gave it a go and ordered a $50 gift card. No issues paying via credit card on their website and the gift card email arrived instantly. I'll combine this with coupons and app deals to stuff my face at a discount.
