I've only compared their demos side by side at Target, and XM4/5 have slightly better detail/soundstage. ULT is by no means bad at those (with ULT off), just not as good. With ULT 1 and 2 on, there's tons of bass without muddying up the sound too much.

I would say that the are closer to being a successor of the extremely bass heavy Sony XB950N headphones from 2017-2019. If you love heavy bass then these are the way to go. When it comes to hip hop and R&B music, these are my main headphones, along with the XB950N's. I prefer them over my AirPods Max, Beats Solos, and old school Klipsch headphones.

Damn, excellent price. I bought these to replace my broken XM4s and they are extremely good. I got them a few months ago eBay certified refurbished or whatever that program is so their warrantied for 2 years. The bass boost does actually make a solid difference

I own the xm4 and bought a pair of these ults for my son last Christmas. While the xm4s are better, these are a better value because they sound juuuuuust about as good for way less. I actually kinda regret getting the xm4s when I could have got these.

Bought these last month for a trip at $80. Great value. A little bass heavy but NC was pretty decent on the flight. If you love edm or hip hop these are for you. Just bought a second one for backup.
