Too bad the battery not replaceable. My last $500 Garmin battery died in 2.5y and Garmin would give me a discount on a new one which went up a few hundred in 2.5y. No thanks. If it can't be repaired (esp a $15 battery) while excellent devices, not providing money to them anymore. I traded it in for a Pixel 3 watch very happy (for $100).
Good to see a discount on premium tier Garmin anytime. World class GPS with basically the entire world map so he can't get lost anywhere., rugged and waterproof to a pretty good depth if you happen to be in water, tracks just about anything you would want healthwise, and has detailed golf course maps and distances so it easily replaces the $500 plus Golf devices and watches. It seems expensive until you realize is probably the most EDCI device you will ever have. And man that flashlight is so valuable to have at all times.
My god. Finally made a move from Apple watch to Garmin (Not Fenix 8, Venu 3). I am veryy happy with the decision. Battery easily lasts two weeks with four hours of workouts every week, compared to one day with Apple. Love the Garmin ecosystem. Also, I can change my phone from iPhone to Android anytime I want. F Apple and its walled garden.

People need to start calling out Apple more by the term.

Remember you only get so many charge cycles. Just ballparking it, you should get perhaps twice as many charge cycles from MIP screens. That's why the older watches are lasting longer.

I grabbed this with a 20% discount through my insurance carrier. It's crazy expensive, but with recreational diving support I took the plunge. Love my Garmin. Great watch.

Some color and case combinations are 799$ on the Garmin website. https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/12...-02904-00/

As mentioned by another user, the cheaper watches have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Sapphire. Sapphire scratches less and shatters more, Gorilla Glass shatters less and scratches more.

THIS^^^^^^

I always wonder why everyone thinks sapphire glass is so superior.

I've had 2-3 dozen watches and only 2 with sapphire.

BOTH the sapphire watches had their face destroyed (dropped one and hit the other one on a corner) while all my other watches are still ticking (pun intended).

If you're worried about scratches buy a $10 protector from amazon.

Best watch ever.

Flashlight, accurate HR monitor, sleep sensor, great 30-day battery, durable screen, silicon bands are easily replaceable (and cheap), multiple sports (including skydiving), accurate altimeter, water proof, etc.

If you can afford it and want a solid watch which can handle multiple sports... get it.

Personally I like the MIP screens, but seems Garmin is going away from that to OLED. The batt also lasts way longer, although my Venu when new lasted a good 5-6 days.

A manufacturer whose products work best with other products from the same manufacturer? Oh the horrors! The Apple ecosystem is just dreadful with low quality and reliability and limited features. /s
Just prior to our meeting, my blind date sent me a text, which I read on my Garmin watch, asking me if she could arrive 15 minutes later than planned to give her time to charge her Apple watch. I cancelled our date. I've been happily married for several years now.

Apple has been this way since the first release of the Mac. Glad you finally took notice.
