It's to distinguish it from Miracle Whip. From DDG: "Miracle Whip is a creamy condiment made by Kraft Heinz, introduced in 1933 as a less expensive alternative to mayonnaise. It has a sweeter flavor and contains less oil than traditional mayonnaise, classifying it as a dressing rather than mayonnaise."
It's great for camping! Packs real nice in a portable fridge. My mate and I have a tradition of slapping the bag before we use it.
