The Best Buy model features an OLED screen, while this one uses an IPS display. If you prefer OLED, it might be worth spending the extra $100.
FYI, the 16S is a slim model, so 115W 5070ti. And I'm not so sure it will actually be $1899 once it finally releases. Also, I tried out the 16 yesterday at MC. The screen is fantastic, excellent colors. Probably one of the best that I've seen that's not mini-led or OLED.

I am a little confused by the 5070 ti mobile. With the extra vram, gddr7 and higher bus and it still only beats Rtx 4070 Mobile by 25-30% at all resolutions. I honestly thought more would happen. It has a paper advance of 40% but only shows lower 25%. I guess we need to wait for more demanding games. I mean at 4k it's only like 20%. I guess 5080 at this price difference.

At this point almost all manufacturers lock down the bios especially with the Ultra series. The exception might be Lenovo and maybe Asus( asus also has QC issues recently). I bought this and while it's nice it does thermal throttle because the cooling isn't that good for the cpu. I lowered the TDP via XTU after going through the advanced advanced bios. So it's manageable now but looking like most16inch laptops are struggling with cooling theUltra 9/7 series
All these gaming laptops require a cooling pad while gaming. It's mandatory.

Yep. I'm wondering the same thing. It started on Best Buy at $1,799.00. No stock of course. Then they said the "sale" was ending (it was never sold) and increased the price $100 last week. What will the price be when it's finally released? Your guess is as good as mine.
Good that you got to see the 16 on display. My MC had 5 in stock with none on display.
I still think this is a price error with OLED but maybe it's actually all coming down
