THE CLASSIC BOOK THAT HAS INSPIRED MILLIONS

A penetrating examination of how we live and how to live better

Few books transform a generation and then establish themselves as touchstones for the generations that follow. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is one such book. This modern epic of a man's search for meaning became an instant bestseller on publication in 1974, acclaimed as one of the most exciting books in the history of American letters. It continues to inspire millions.

A narration of a summer motorcycle trip undertaken by a father and his son, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance becomes a personal and philosophical odyssey into fundamental questions on how to live. The narrator's relationship with his son leads to a powerful self-reckoning; the craft of motorcycle maintenance leads to an austerely beautiful process for reconciling science, religion, and humanism. Resonant with the confusions of existence, this classic is a touching and transcendent book of life.

This new edition contains an interview with Pirsig and letters and documents detailing how this extraordinary book came to be.

Free eBook app that allows you to borrow digital books from your local library. Check with your local library to see if they're part of it (most likely are) and get a library card.Once you have a library card, you can add it to the Libby app to borrow the digital books. Only caveats is that libraries typically have a limit on licenses for the books and you may have to wait a while. Depending on the library you have membership to, you can borrow for two to three weeks at a time. Most books support reading on a Kindle device but you can read books via the Libby app too.Hope this helps ! Love the app !

I tried to read this when I was a young guy like 19. I thought it was boring and pointless. Now I'm 35 maybe I'll give it another chance

Had a similar experience. One of the most overhyped books I've ever read.

I tried at 17 or 18, and didn't make it through. Tried again in my late 20s, and though certain parts where still a slog, it was a lot easier. I enjoyed it overall, and there are a couple concepts that I still think about regularly nearly 20 years later.

Wouldn't help unless you happen to live in the same county. You'll need to check with your local library.
