Some people who aren't chasing parallels just want the entire base set, usually good for kids, but no reason to buy if you've been ripping packs and probably have 1 or 2 base sets already.

Probably not worth much given how many base sets are printed now. Too much supply
Popular presents from grandparents for years, there is value in having all the cards from the "flagship" release in one spot
