Just got the OLED 144hz at Costco for $800, don't need the extra monitor or VA panel. Just FYI for people looking.

Just wait for that $699 deal for OLED. Or more commonly seen as $776 with extra monitor on EPP or $850 with extra monitor on EDU or $799 with extra $75 BB gift card. Tons of deal for this monitor.

It's showing $799.99 in my cart with both monitors and discounts. Did they change the price on this?

I don't need the extra 27", I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle to buy it anyway and sell the brand new 27" on craigslist. Or just wait until the g9 becomes a killer deal by itself

Is the OLED version better?

I also got the Costco deal and I figured with 90 day returns, if a significantly better deal pops up elsewhere I'll just return the Costco one and rebuy.

OLED being better still depends on use case. The burn in threat is no where near as bad as it was just a few years ago...

If you're only gaming/media heavy with this monitor then OLED is better. If you're using it for productivity tasks then you're probably going to find the text clarity iffy and may be running a burn-in gamble.

The really new, super modern OLEDs seem to have so much built in burn-in mitigation in order to help the average "I'll just use it like a monitor" user...but again that's really only for the absolute latest OLED panels. For most of the panels people seem to aim for about 3ish years before having to replace.

My G9 died within 6 months and replacing it was one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. Samsung would not send me a box and there are no qualified service centers within my area. I don't dislike the monitor but I learned my lesson and stored the box and packing materials when I got my replacement after 3 months of back and forth.

Reddit's G9 subreddit is filled with posts just like yours. And users post the same thing week over week. The vertical lines seem to be the most common failures. Idiots can thumb you down, and me down, but the fact remains Samsung has ongoing issues with these monitors.Edit: you thumb downing coward. Hatred of the truth. Weak.
