I use The Bug Bite Thing (yes that's the product name). It's just a little suction plunger that you put against the bug bite. It works amazingly well, is super cheap, and uses no batteries like this gadget. I keep several around the house, in camping gear, in the car, etc.

I tried this after a friend told me it was amazing. It did indeed stop the itch temporarily, but it always came back after a few hours, and then it would last for days (the itch) and wake me up at night. When I was out hiking for a day, I would burn half my bites with the Beurer and the other bites would get the bug bite thing suction. The bug bite thing was far superior after a few hours.
I went back to using The Bug Bite Thing only, the itch goes away and stays away.
If you buy the beurer from Amazon, you can't return it, which was another bite in the butt.
