4*M.2 NVMe Slots, but the N150 only has 9 PCIe lanes.

Also, ram is not upgradeable.

Dual 2.5gbps ethernet ports. This thing is a niche product but it's a good deal for whoever needs it.

Even 1 pice4 lane is 5x faster than the network connection on this so it's not an issue. btw, each nvme port is probably running with 2 pcie lanes on this server.

I really want to want one of these. I just keep seeing reviews talking about low speeds and high thermals and it scares me off. Anyone have any first-hand experience with these?

Not really. All you need is the cheapest 2 ethernet mini pc you can find for that. If you want more ethernet ports, there are some with more than 2 ports also.
