I have these shoes in black well worth the price of $75. Why is it always the ugly colors on sale? I would have to be in the deep trails wearing these. If black were $49 would buy several. These are my daily wearers. The souls are noisy like a golf spike shoe but great always on your feet with changing terrain.

How do you think they will work as a daily road walker?

Based on my experience with these and other road "Road to trail shoes", they are good for road running and ligher trails. Think "crushed stone" type trail or dirt only. I definitely am not taking any of these into a hard day on the mountains on technical terrain (serious rocks and roots).
Regarding this specifically. The lug (tread) depth just isn't enough for more technical stuff or running on hard packed snow.
The fit is good. They are lightweight and comfortable. I've used them for short distances (4 to 5 mile runs) and ran a 50k (31 miles) in them so they can definitely handle up to that distance. For this price, if you're a casual runner or walker, I'd pick up a pair. Merrell is under-rated and don't get anywhere near the hype of larger shoe companies, but they put out some good shoes at much cheaper price points.

the "ugly colors" are obviously on sale because obviously people buy the better looking colors without a discount. Fuggin OBVIOUSLY.

Yes, for sure. I have these in white as dress sneakers, if you will. Very comfortable and I get compliments when I wear them.
this guy is apparently a bit wide
They will work nicely but are noisy if that bothers people.

They fit wide which I like for a running shoe. They are surprising light and cushioned.
