I actually have an additional 30% off coupon off the $14 Onyx.

Looks like the 30% promo applies to a bunch of other products, too: mostly other insulated containers of all sorts, but a bunch of other kitchen and dining-related products, also.

"Teakwood" color is also $14 for me, though no 30% coupon on that one for me.

Thanks!

Just needs to a bit larger. 12oz doesn't last me long enough to get cold even without insulation

Swell has 16-oz for $17 (down from $34). If you order $30+, shipping is free.

Swell's story is fascinating. They were "first" company to popularize the stainless steel water bottle.

The "story" is just a work of marketing fiction. The mugs are made in China with slave labor using toxic materials. If they were truly concerned about sustainability, they would manufacture in the United States with verified sourcing and ethical labor practices.

I doubt domestic even at its inflated price. Perhaps I need to draw you an Edgeworth Box Diagram.

Chinese factories simply cannot be trusted.

Still have the Swell Traveler Teakwood bottle that I bought from Barnes and Noble like ten years ago.

Of course, that teakwood color has long since flaked away, and so now my bottle is basically a nondescript chrome/stainless steel color. But I still love it. It just feels nicer in my hand than your bog standard cylindrical bottle like a Hydro Flask. And the wide mouth makes it much easier to load up with ice.

I do kinda take issue with the term "Traveler" though, because if anything, the weird shape makes it less likely to fit in standard drink holders, and so I tend to not take it with me when traveling. I use it exclusively around the house.

I agree and disagree. I believe the mast majority of these Chinese brands on ebay, Amazon, aliexpress are selling cheap stainless steel. I don't know if/how the materials are being tested and by who but that could make a difference. What to look for is a reputable brand that sells stainless steel that is specifically marked 18/8, 18/10, 304, 316, or 430. Those are the most common food grade stainless steels. A lot are made in China. Swell specifically states they use 18/8 stainless. They seem to also have a good reputation.

I have a small swell bowl I got for cheap that looks pretty well made and works great. Especially camping. No signs of rust after storing in a non temp controlled sun room in a humid climate. I would be willing to try another.

Looks like swell's site has a 16 oz for $17. Not sure what shipping is. There seems to also be a 20% off coupon they advertise.
