not sure if you're right but too lazy to do the research, so I bought it. Most people have no use for 64GB but at this price point it's marginally higher than 32GB. Remember to pay using chase freedom for an extra 5% off

So I've been waiting to purchase some RAM for one of my unraid servers.

I was going to get 8 modules of ECC UDIMM (16gb each).

Seem like this would also be ok? I'd be doing 4 sticks instead of 8 though since the motherboard only supports 128gb

I bought a pair of these a few weeks ago for $98 and they couldn't run at the advertised speeds using XMP profile on my 12th gen Intel with DDR4. They failed memtest and I sent them back.

At this price I'll try again.

Do you not know how chase freedom quarterly bonuses work? Amazon has 5% off this quarter, you have to activate it

Is this generally good ram? I don't stay on top of this stuff anymore? I have 4x8 (for 32) with my and 5900x and gtx 3080. Would moving to this be beneficial for gaming at all?

Thanks. I have freedom unlimited so no quarterly categories for me. I bought this in the morning and was racing to cancel it. 😀

As of a few months ago, these appeared to be coming with Micron chips. I had no issue running them with XMP enabled on a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. I like how they're low profile, so they shouldn't interfere with larger coolers.

Very tempted - have 4*16GB 3200 memory in my system right now.

This is the Absolute end of the cheap DDR4 memory. By the end of the year, this will be $150, as companies have stopped making DDR4 memory. Or at least the big name companies (SK Hynix, Samsung, and Micron). Since most people have moved over to DDR5, they are looking to clear out stock at this point.

That's the gamble now... we know we are in the final days of DDR4 and we are all gambling to see how low it will go before it goes much much higher with limited and eventually no new supply.

Unfortunately there's no really great gaming/performance DDR4 left at this point (all the ultra low CL stuff is out of production, certainly no more Samsung B die being used for DDR4)

I don't think we are in stock clearing phase just yet, but soon.

Most motherboard's aren't quad channel even if they have 4 slots. So you could more affordably upgrade to 2x32 GB. Also 32GB sticks are faster than 8 or 16 GB sticks because they're dual rank.
