For $200 you can put this outside and just replace it when it fries
Just a warning about this TV. I purchased this a little over a month ago and it's quite hit or miss when you power it on and just stays on a black screen instead of loading the Home Screen requiring you to power off and on again. It also often requires a hard reset to reconnect to your Internet often. Also, the cord is built into the unit, which I find very annoying. Maybe I got a dud, I don't know, but you're definitely getting what you pay for here.

Would this be good to replace a 10 year old plasma tv? Nothing wrong with the plasma. Just feels like it's getting old.

In my experience these entry level tvs burn out exactly when the warranty expires. This was not the case for the one vizio I tried and since gave away and replaced with that samsung PM, it's use case was at least 8 hours a day and I had it for 2 years. It's still trucking and outlived the $20 2 year extended warranty that I did end up using on its predecessor.

Crap product. Vizio TVs have so many issues. It's a terrible brand now. 10 years ago, you got a lot of bang for your buck, but now you get what you pay for. Keep shilling for it, though.

Nope. Vizio is junk now. They were good 10 years ago. It's a pure crap brand now.

I'm never buying a Hisense again, even if it means staring at a blank wall instead.

I got the Hisense 50in for outdoor tv. You biggest enemy besides rain is the brightness of the sun. The Hisense U6H has about 600 nits which is better than any other brands in this range. I had a Samsung and it wasn't bright enough during the day. I bought a cheap cover for the the TV during the rainy season which has been holding up pretty well. I figure if the tv breaks it's way cheaper than buying a dedicated outdoor tv. You can get about 4 of the Hisense to the Furrion.

It's a very common problem, and why Vizio is so bad these days. I bought a Vizio for a friend a few years ago and she had the exact same problem. She went and exchanged it for another of the same TV, and it also had the same problem. My sister also has a Vizio and the picture goes out from time to time and has to be unplugged and plugged back in to get it back. So, in the years since then, they still haven't improved. This brand is such a waste of money.
