The fittings on this hose are aluminum. If you have brass fittings on hose bibs or accessories, beware of galvanic corrosion that can basically fuse these metals together. Or just disconnect when not in use.

Honestly I'm done buying these.

Yes, they are the best performing hose and they are great. But unless you are using them in a cleanroom indoors, they turn into a sticky, crappy, unfixable mess after a very short period of time.

Mold and everything else.

Nothing like the craftsman from sears. 10 years, still going strong.

This is what I really don't like about these hoses. They are bright clean green and after a season is covered in a blackish stain. is it mold?

Can the black stain be hosed off? Looks ugly.

I had this hose for 3 years and i leave it outside and it still in great shape. That being said buy the one where the handle turns. Its a big help and your going to regret not getting it.

Great hoses, I have two of them. Don't buy their nozzles though, they are cheap, plastic junk.

if it were 20$, i'd be in and just buy a new end for it... at 42$, that's a ridiculous statement for "acceptable".

I thought the black stains were just from the mulch around my house

Ah... so that's probably what happened with my hose reel.

Mine is on a hanger were it rarely touched the ground, and in a rather shadowed area of the house. I assume it was mildew and merely cosmetic but I don't get this on any other hose, even another Flexzilla that is in a more sun drenched location.

Could be but probably not. These are notorious for molding. It's kind of crazy to think that they're 'drinking water safe' but become super moldly in quick order if they're stored in a humid environment out of the sun.

I tried putting it in a bucket with bleach, pressure washing etc. Some of it comes off, but not enough, and I cannot scrub all sides of a 100ft of hose round every season. I have a couple of to their "colors" line with brown color, those seem to be better than the bright green (really, whose idea was it). But no sale on those, 2x the price :/

i highly recommend trying one of these if either of you have a need for another.. idk if they will last 10 years, but mine are on year 4 and look like they are brand new. the material/structure they have is hard to explain, but they really are as close to kink proof as i can imagine. my only gripe is the color. they make other colors but they are absurdly priced just to get another color.

The gorilla one at home depot is the same but black and gray. Color is the only reason I went with gorilla.

Also 10y warranty. Maybe lifetime. I forgot.

Anyone know if Flexzilla has a similar water hose with brass fittings?

Echoing the black "mold" problem here. 6 months in GA humidity and this thing looks like it was working in the mines. Hose still works fine, but I'm wary of actually touching it without gloves. No other hose I've used does this.
