If you have any difficulties replicating the price of my example combos, please keep in mind that all items MUST be "sold and shipped" by newegg, and have the "Combo for an additional 15% off" banner in the pc builder. Additionally, you must add the items to the cart directly from the pc builder tool, NOT from their individual combo or item pages. While you can still select backordered items in the builder, backordered items do NOT count towards the 4 item requirement. However, backordered items still receive the 15% off discount if paired with 4 additional qualifying items. If an item is sold at a substantially lower price by a third party, the pc builder defaults to the third party listing and doesn't appear to give an option to select the version sold by newegg. However, this can be worked around. If the items are part of a combo, you can go to the combo page and click the the "Build with it" or "Add to PC build list" button beneath the "add to cart button" to add those items to the pc builder tool. Alternatively, you can go to the individual items page, manually change the seller to newegg, and then click the the "Build with it" or "Add to PC build list" button.

It appears you need to add items from four different categories to qualify, adding additional items from a single category doesn't appear to work. For example, if you select two different qualifying ssds, you still need to select items from three other categories for the promotion to apply. Certain accessories do appear to count towards the 4 item requirement now, newegg has changed this. The maximum discount solely from the 15% promotion is $200 (this doesn't impact additional discounts, combo savings beyond $200 still apply). The promotion "Ends 5/25/25 at 11:59 P.M. PT. or until funds last."

The cooler master hyper 212 v3 included as in the example combo of my original deal post was selected as the filler item since it's actually useful in conjunction with the other components, but at $27 ($20+$7 shipping), its not actually the cheapest filler item, you can technically get the example combo for cheaper.

The cheapest qualifying items I've found (to use as filler) are as follows: "G.SKILL AEGIS Model F3-1333C9S-4GIS" 4gb ddr3 ram for $11.99 (memory category), "Bgears b-Pellucid Mini - White, Steel + Tempered Glass, ABS + Mesh BG30149" fan for $24.99 (case category), "Silicon Power Ace A55 SU128GBSS3A55S25AE" 128gb sata ssd for $16.99 (storage category, under ssd), "Super flexible PSU extension cables, 1 x PCIe 8pin (6+2)" for $17.99 (cooler category, under fan/heatsink), "MSI HS01 Headset Stand, Metallic Design, Cell Phone Holder, Non-Slip" for $19.99 (accessories category, under headset). You may need to disable compatibility checker (toggle at the top right of the pc builder tool) for some of these items to be visible.

The deal thread for the previous iteration this promotion can be found here: https://slickdeals.net/f/18296680-newegg-combos-15-discount-with-4-items-example-gigabyte-b650e-aorus-elite-x-ice-mobo-2tb-wd-sn850x-ssd-32gb-corsair-ram-cooler-master-hyper-212-cpu-cooler-304-47

Additional example combos will go here (I might edit this comment with more stand-out example combos if anything jumps out at me):

GIGABYTE B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE ATX Mobo + CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 CMH32GX5M2E6000C36W Ram + WD_BLACK 2TB SN850X WDS200T2X0E Ssd ( https://www.newegg.com/Product/Co...bo.4782454 ):
With "Super flexible PSU extension cables, 1 x PCIe 8pin (6+2)", $291.53.
With "Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum V3 CPU Air Cooler", $300.22.
With "AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D" (must be sold by newegg, manually select newegg as the seller on the product page then add to build list: https://www.newegg.com/amd-ryzen-...6819113793 ), $572.04.
With "AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D" (much more expensive and not worth it over the 7800x3d imo, but some people just want the best), $691.89.
With "AMD Ryzen 9 7900X" (comes with free 1tb ssd), $552.71.
You can pair the 7800x3d with the GIGABYTE B650E AORUS ELITE X AX ICE ATX Mobo + CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5 6000 CMH32GX5M2E6000C36W Ram + WD_BLACK 2TB SN850X WDS200T2X0E Ssd combo ( https://www.newegg.com/Product/Co...bo.4782454 ) for $572, which is a far better value imo (7800x3d must be added to the build list individually after manually selecting newegg as the seller). The x870 chipset is literally just b650e with mandatory usb4 support.
Alternatively, if you're dead set on the 9800x3d (much more expensive than the 7800x3d for a 10%-15% uplift in gaming performance), you can pair the 9800x3d with said combo for $691.89.
The 9600x has slightly better gaming performance compared to the 12700k (assuming the 12700k is using ddr5 ram, the 12700k is significantly worse with ddr4). It's important to note though, the 9600x only has 6 cores, so that may become a bottleneck with future games even though it isn't a major issue now. On the other hand, the 12700k has drastically stronger multi-threaded performance, so if you have heavily multi-threaded cpu dependent productivity workloads it's superior. The 12700k also supports intel quicksync (hardware accelerated video encoding/transcoding), so it's better for photo/video editing, and something like a home plex server. That being said, the 9600x is FAR more power efficient than the 12700k under load. Also worth considering is that the 12700k is a multi generation old cpu on the dead end lga1700 platform, while zen 6 will be a slot in upgrade on am5 (you will be able to upgrade from the 9600x in the future without replacing your motherboard and ram).

In conclusion: if you're not using your computer for anything more cpu intensive than gaming, the 9600x is superior. If you need a significant amount of multithreaded performance, or would benefit from intel quicksync, the 12700k is superior. If you end up going with the 12700k, make sure to get a board that supports ddr5, and you'll need a significantly better cooler and psu (due to the far higher power draw under load).

No. Get a better cooler for a 9950x3d. Doesn't have to be a $100 Noctua HSF or some AIO cooler, but should be a little better air cooler at least. Thermalright makes some popular 'value' coolers, but they still start around $40 or so for a more recent one with dual fans and 7 heat pipes.(Phantom Spirit 120 SE [amazon.com])EDIT: The CM Hyper 212 is probably fine for the 9600x at default 65W. Really pushing it though to try and use it with a 9950x3d 170W TDP CPU.No direct comparison found after a quick search, but here's Hyper 212 Black vs PS120SE:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsnpfQ3gx_Y
I have the 9950x3d on a Phantom Spirit 120SE normal temps 41c under load never exceeds 75c. using thermal grizzly duronaut paste

The G.Skill RAM in the OP is not on the QVL for that motherboard. This memory is, however, for nearly the same price and speed, but with slightly (perhaps more than just slightly) worse timings:

I fee like people are sleeping on that Asus X870 AYW board that comes with 32gb of RAM..
$219 board that drops another $30 with a CPU plus you get the 15% off of that with this 4 piece combo deal..
I think it's because there are a lot of negative reviews out there about that PCIE slot breaking and the onboard audio being subpar. Since RAM is cheap, it's probably safer to get a better motherboard instead.

It wasn't a glitch it was a sale until they sold a certain dollar amount and once they reached that number the 15% discount ended.
