Been using my 40v greenworks for about 6 years. I have about 3500 sq ft of lawn between front and back and i can get them both done with 2 4ah batteries if I wait 2 to 3 weeks between mows. I've done almost all with 1 4ah if I mow weekly and grass is completely dry. Dampness also bogs it down so that factors into battery life as well.

I was thinking I was lucky to find this but it's oos and not available for shipping to me. I'm in need of one as my John Deere riding mower had been down for 3 weeks. I need a backup too because I have an issue out of it every year.

Good product. Have one since many years. I set it to the highest setting(tall grass stops weeds) and mow once every 2 weeks.
Tip: if it turns off when u run it with sufficient battery, try raising the height. It reduces the work on the mower.

This or the Greenworks 60V for $399 from Tractor Supply?

The price difference is about $178, the Walmart's 40V w/ NY Tax total is $248 whereas the Tractor Supply's 60V is $426 with NY tax.

Wanted another greenworks device, but there's 170 one star reviews on Walmart, mostly due to bad battery run time of 30 min. I'm currently using a dual battery mower and it's more than 30 min runtime, so I cant downgrade

I have the 80v, an ebay refurb. Both batteries it came with fried. Squaretrade is sending me a check. So far, among all my 80v stuff, 4 batteries have died.

Yes, I got the self-propelled version on clearance from Walmart at this price but that was about 5 years ago. It's great if you have a lot of variation in the grade of your yard. It does drain the battery quicker the more you use it but definitely makes mowing easier. If you have a flat yard probably don't need it.

One other tip is that there are a lot of 3rd party batteries made in China sold on Amazon that are half the price but yet work just as good as the OEM batteries. Most of my OEM batteries have damaged cells after 5-7 years so they last 15 minutes or so. Those cheaper batteries have made the difference in keeping these battery powered tools feasible both in terms of continued operation and financially.

Same here, I also replace the blades yearly, around $20 for the dual blades.
