I bought this a couple months ago. I do think I paid around $20. I used them to do some outlets and switches to update the outlets a bit. They are Great but was a little
Trouble to stuff all the wires back into the box. Wires capped are more flexible. These add a rigid square Lego sized box that doesn't like to be moved or bent in just any old ways.. that being said I still managed to stuff everything back into the box safely. And the hold is strong, I could just yank the wire out of the connection. 9/10 would recommend.. made the job extremely easy. Also if you're going to switch outlets the lever action ones are great you shove them in the back and close the levers to secure. They are different from the back Stab outlets.
FYI - HF has knockoff Wagos now. $10 for a 25 piece kit. There's also 10% off coupon for the holiday, but there's probably something better to use it on. https://www.harborfreight.com/com...70056.html
The testing done on Wagos is well documented, with video online of people putting multiple times the rated amperage for Wagos and the wire insulation would catch fire before the wago failed or melted enough for the metal connection to fail. I've talked to electricians who use these for installing light fixtures with stranded wire, and there is no problems mentioned with their use.

I use them for adding smart switches to light switch junction boxes as trying to twist 4+ wires into one giant wire nut takes up way more space than the 5 port wago connector, which is flat and allows for better organization in the box plus easier changeouts later if desired.

The HF version claims UL certification… many other cheaper versions do not.

I have the HF knockoffs and it seems like they're larger than the Wagos. Otherwise they work great.

I'm always skeptical of wired in stuff but from Ali. Also, the savings will dissapear and then some once you pay tariffs.

OMG! When I discovered WAGO connectors, I threw every single wire nut out. These are a game changer for electrical connections.

Always saw blurb this for OTC meds, but makes a lot of sense for products such as these

"Compare to WAGO 221-415 at $20.95Save 52%"

I bought these (Link below- not a deal just a reference) a few years ago- highly recommend this or similar type. The type Audiophan is referring to (I think) is different but also heard good things. Just google "Automatic wire stripper and cutter"https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000OQ21CA?th=1
it seems i bought these on Feb 15, 2018. I should use them..

Yep. I have some generic lever nuts that I will use for electronics projects from time to time. I would never put them inside a wall, though.

When you use this for splices, you are using that light meal bridge between terminals to pass the electrical current. When you deal with solid copper (mostly in houses, everything is romax cables, which are made with solid copper wires), trying to bend and twist the joint to put it into the boxes, you are betting that plastic or the little piece metal bridge not to be broke.
On the other hand, traditional wire nuts, which don't need anything between wires as bridge to pass current, it's directly wire to wire, easy to work with, super durable and reliable. Don't know how to twist wire nuts? Better keep your hands off electrical work.

Friendly reminder, if you ever hire an electrician and see him use this, double check his wiring method, which is probably taught by a YouTuber.
You forgot to mention the quality of the job is directly proportional to the horizontal alignment of the screw slots.

CAVEAT EMPTOR - I stay away from building materials from amazon sellers especially something subject to arc faults that can burn down your house. Not worth the risk of getting a Chinese knockoff that's impossible to tell apart except when the mechanism fails suddenly. Third party sellers offering large discounts is a huge red flag imho.

Don't even need to flip the breaker, just turn the lightswitch off.

I like HF. But for electrical stuff, I would stay with well known brand. Unless you know that HF brand (well reviewed with specs/data), take the safer route and don't buy knockoffs.

For the electrical connectors, it has to be able to handle the max current (plus some guardband). And a lot of time, if the current going thru the connector is higher than it can handle, it is not like fuse which just sever the connection. The connector gets damaged but still delivering current. The end result is that the damaged area gets hotter and hotter and eventually gets hot enough to cause fire.

The lever connection switches and outlets are super handy if you don't have enough wire left in the box, or it's been trimmed too short after multiple remodel/repair/replacements.
The old BACK STAB oulets have stripped (14ga) wire pushed into the rear, and spring tension from the wire contact and "bite" from its orientation holding things together.
The newer BACK WIRE outlets have the wire inserted from the rear, then the terminal screws are tightened. The terminal screws clamp the wire with an internal pressure plate. It's an infinitely more secure connection, that can be used with multiple wire sizes (10ga-14ga).
I still prefer using the terminals with a loop or shepherd's hook when I can.
