Don't want to sound like a snob but get the brushless versions. They are also more compact and work great. I've had craftsman for over 5 years. They are more than any homeowner will need. And you don't have to waste your money on paying for Dewalt, Milwaukee. Etc.

It's cheaper and better getting the Bauer set at harbor freight with better batteries and 10% off coupon this week or spend double and get a Dewalt set when it goes on sale https://www.harborfreight.com/20v...=375&gQT=0

I think brushless versions in general are worth it regardless of brand. Once you use one, it's hard to go back to the brushed version.

Everyone acts like they are a contractor building houses when looking at these power tools.

The v20 line is perfectly fine for regular homeowners. I have no tool loyalty and own craftsman, Ridgid, Milwaukee, DeWalt, ego.

I will say the blades on the craftsman tools are not great though. You will need new blades on everything eventually but the craftsman tools when you swap the blades you will notice right away.

I would think the 2.0amp hour batteries will not power the circular saw very well. My dad has these craftsman 20volt tools and they work fine

This was the first thing that came to mind for me, too. I have a DeWalt set, and the circular saw needs a minimum of a 4.0 amp hour 20V lithium ion battery. Anything less, forget about it. The Saws-All probably needs a similar or better battery for prolonged usage.

Bottom line, these 2.0 AH batteries are not likely to be strong enough to power the circular saw or Saws-all for very long or for harder cuts. This is light duty equipment.

a fresh charged battery as supplied in this kit will not power the circular saw for more than maybe 15/20 cuts through thin plywood and 2x4s

I got the same combo more than a year ago (although it included another 4aH battery) as I became a homeowner and can say with certainty these tools are just fine for the average homeowner. Building a lean-to and small furniture, sanding walls for paint, clearing invasive vines and other projects these tools have performed well.

The fact that these are brushed tools shouldn't bother a homeowner or a first time tool buyer. Many things have been built with brushed tools. While this is a decent deal, I would go Ryobi over craftsman any day. Ryobi offers arguably better value and a much larger lineup of tools. Not to mention better outdoor tools.
