I always ignore the warning and reset it. Better to estimate your usage and see how many gallons your filter is rated for then do some quick math. Or if you know your tap water is safe, just wait until your water tastes/smells different or the water flow slows.
whirlpool here. mine doesnt use this model.

these are scams. they time your fridge instead of gallon usage. they will promp for replacement when its timing is up. even if you only filtered 1 gallon during its lifetime
This really still isn't a good deal when you consider you can get 3 Kenmore 9081, which are the exact same thing, for less than this.

Excellent deal! This is the best price I've seen since the Whirlpool Black Friday price of $27 a couple years ago.

For some reason these have been getting clogged in my fridge. The water drop genetics have been working great. Odd

Haven't change water filter to the fridge since bought house, about 10 years. Don't use for water, but still use the ice maker Um, how often are you supposed to change it anyway?

Sold and shipped by Amazon so most likely these are genuine filters. I buy them af Homedepot/Lowes when on sale ($40-$44 each) to avoid fakes. I am good for another 1.5 years so I will skip this one but yes it is a very good deal.

Pro tip: I used to use the Kenmore 9081. They are equivalent to these and I used to use them in our rental whirlpool fridge. Bunch on the market on eBay which I presume if from Sears going out of business. About $15 a piece and I didn't notice any difference.

You can often find 2-packs of these EDR1RXD1 on ebay for around $25-30 from multiple sellers. They look and seem genuine compared to the ones I've bought on Amazon. Not saying this is a bad deal if you need one shipped quickly, but if you're not in a rush, check elsewhere.

Is there a specific seller that you recommend? I see the 4 packs for around $25 with generic product images but are they genuine or generic with stock images?

The filters are rated for 200 gallons I believe, I would go by that if possible. I'd be willing to bet they lose their effectiveness at filtering lots of contaminants long before they become noticeably clogged
