I bought this exact model in Midnight for $971 via Best Buy Open Box(excellent).
The model isn't very old. Mine came immaculate. Nothing about it seems used… I suspect that perhaps mine was just traded in for the new color.

No guarantees, but the last couple years of Back-to-School sales form Apple included $100 or $150 Apple Gift Cards on top of Education pricing. If we see this again starting in June, we can expect a $1099 base 15" M4 MacBook Air + $150 Apple Gift Card, netting the computer at $949 (assuming Apple Gift Cards are of value to the purchaser) for an extra $100 of savings over even Amazon and MicroCenter.
