Any good hacks involving the m12 stubby impact wrench 3/8 or 1/2 and the 5ah XC battery and charger. I placed an order, but not getting much of a deal on anything.

No free gift option is available through this link. Price is just 229.
And the 'old' link that let's you add the Socket is still 229. I see no way to get it to 138.

You have to press "View full product details" to see the add a free gift option. From there you add the 3/8 ratchet. Once all of that's in your cart the ratchet shows as $90 and change bringing the drill bundle down to the posted $138.

Got it figured out finally, but it's still 229 combined. I take it you have to return the Socket driver after you get it. Surprised they'd even let you do that.
Correct. That's how you do the hack

Indeed. Even better/cleaner way to hack is to schedule pickup of those two items at different stores, pick up the one you want, then cancel online the one you did not want. Eliminates any potential friction with customer service, as you never had the unwanted item in your possession.

Good idea, I haven't tried that one yet. But unfortunately I've had problems with Home Depot before canceling an order pick up. I went online and canceled the store pick up, but noticed later that day my order status had been changed to "customer picked up item". I had to drive into the store and tell them I never picked it up. They were totally confused what to do and it took probly 15 min for them to finally refund me. They ended up saying that when a customer cancels an order they have to go in their computer system and mark it as "canceled" and the employee must have accidentally clicked "item picked up" instead. It's totally inexplicable to me that they would do it this way because it allows for human error and results in customers being charged for canceled items. I never had the item in hand and had to convince them that this was true and that they needed to refund me. Ever since then I've been kinda scared to cancel store pick ups.

I was about to get this deal when I came across this video suggesting that the m12 subcompact kit is actually better than the fuel kit for basically the price. Video here https://youtube.com/shorts/abTXkJ...eSEt0IU0Lf

Subcompact kit they're showing in the video

There is no friction. You are allowed to return one of the items if you want. Not saying it will happen every time but doing the "pickup" at another store and not picking it up can get your account banned from ordering online. It's not complicated just buy the stuff, wait a little, then return whatever

Not a valid comparison. That's the old 2nd gen FUEL kit from several years ago. The 3rd gen in this deal is much better.

Done, still shows ratchet at $90.00 + the $138 price, then asks for ccard information. Does the $90 get dropped after you enter your ccard number, then review your order before placing your order?

of course it's true that you can return whatever you want, but—
- Returns, in general, often are tracked, usually by 3rd party LP companies like Retail Equation.
- A lot of us don't like to put people through unnecessary "work".

I personally much prefer the item cancellation when it works, so can you tell us more about this account banning?

these deals work because both items are discounted, when fully proceeding through the transaction, but the discount from the "kept" item is retained after the unwanted item is canceled or returned.

There is no way to "hack" (🙄) without first completely proceeding with the full combo price. The "hack" is in the cancelation/return of the unwanted item after the fact.
