Says Ultra 7 in specs on the HP website, but the title on the HP website says Ultra 5, so a little concerned.

Follow-up: Contacted HP support, they confirmed it's an Ultra 5, not an Ultra 7.

The answer in the Q&A section of the product page says it's an Ultra 7. The spec sheet [hp.com] also says it's an Ultra 7.

HP Support stated a ticket had already been raised on the issue and tech support confirmed it was an Ultra 5. I guess we will need someone to buy one to know for sure.

I wasn't in the market, but this laptop is tempting me into an impulse buy. But then isn't the current Costco FP deal better and cheaper overall?

What's HP's return policy?

300 nits 2k touch oled? I guess a step up from costco non-oled but maybe a mistake? Not sure I've seen that option on an hp yet.

I don't mean to thread crap, but a 2k screen that is 16" has 142 PPI, which might be a problematic resolution for some. Lower resolution OLED screens can also be prone to screen door effect, though that is more likely with touchscreens. Thanks for all the deals you post, OP. Cheers

It is Core i7, the header is wrong. Otherwise they would have told you which Core i5 it has. And the Spec sheet which Deelseeker has given, is equivalent to Leonovo's Psref and has accurate information about device specification.
Regarding the mistake in the page, the model the mention is still 255u which is core i7.

I agree it should be core ultra 7. I don't even see a configurable one with core ultra 5, just i5 or ryzens. If not, it is good ammo for no restocking fee return or some concession. OLED is an $80 upgrade over 2k touch, but doesn't show a 2k touch OLED so that will still be interesting to see. I think this is a good alternative to the costco $550 deal if you want a hopefully better screen near full color gamut. If you have "private store" affiliation, brings it down to $598, and another $20 off with welcome code. Another $50 off if you have chase freedom HP $50 offer, making it $530.

Also staples has a few omnibooks on sale for 30-40% off in this price range right now, but the OLED touchscreen is the draw for me on this one if it pans out.

The screendoor effect occurs more in OLED screens that are also touchscreen, because the touch matrix for some reason is more visible in OLED vs IPS and produces that effect. However, depending on the OLED arrangement or software solution to deal with burn in, the screen can look lower resolution compared to a same resolution IPS. I'm using a vivobook with OLED screen, no touch, and it definitely looks lower resolution than a comparable IPS of the same resolution. The screen arrangement is not pentile, which is known to have this effect, but I think the software solution they came up with to prevent burn in must involve to turn off half the pixels or a third of the pixels every X number of frames displayed. I have not tested this but to my eyes it looks like some in between resolution 720p-1080p. So I think it must work in some similar way. Take away point, don't pick a touch screen OLED if you are sensitive to the screendoor effect and do pick a higher resolution OLED than what you are comfortable with

I got mine and it has ips screen, NOT OLED. I thought it was odd there was a new 2k touch OLED option from hp. Apparently there isn't. It will be going back.

You bought it from this deal? If yes, they probably sent you a wrong model .

Yes, they sent me a 16-af1037nr and specs on label says IPS LED display. Other specs are right. Costco deal is better.
