"Despite the TV having modern gaming features, you can't use VRR with local dimming enabled, which is unusual and really holds back its usefulness for gamers."
I had an old Vizio M70-E3 from 2017, so this was a huge upgrade.
85" is huge and difficult to get up my stairs, and hard to mount too, but I got it done.

Anyone have insight for me to make my decision?

I felt the same and just went W95. I noticed every review I read compared W95 to U8 or Bravia 7. Those are way outside this price range. Must be doing something right. My assumption is that if this is comparable to those it is better than the U6/7.
I had a bad experience ordering an 83 inch OLED from Beach Camera. They used the budget delivery service, with a single delivery person attempting to maneuver a delicate 83 inch OLED inside and up a flight of stairs - if I had not refused delivery. Dude had this $5k TV laying down on its side on a dolly, a huge red flag for a delicate OLED panel with manufacturer instructions to keep it vertical at all times.
In contrast, I bought the same 83 inch OLED directly from LG, and they sent a 3 person delivery crew to safely bring the TV inside and carry it upstairs while keeping the TV vertical the entire time - physically impossible with only 1 person.
People knock LG for their aleged long delivery waits, but I would rather wait a week or two and have it done correctly and professionally without cutting corners like the "3 day delivery" people do.
TLDR: if ever you get a 77 or 83 inch OLED delivered by only 1 person, refuse the delivery because chances are panel is damaged, and it may not be evident immediately.
The biggest problem with these TVs is the Fire OS. Amazon probably pays Panasonic a big chunk of $ to cover the cost of manufacturing.

I had similar experience with Walmart when they delivered 65 Sony OLED A90J with only 1 person climbing 3 floors of stairs, I returned it anyway.
