it's because they know nobody wants a hedge trimmer on a pole... so bundle the useless attachment to dump them for something
My 9' tall 50' long yew hedge disagrees! I'm too old to get up on a 10' stepladder to trim that thing.

Seems like a pretty decent deal with the forge battery. Does not look like there are many of them of market place in my area. Could be a good way to get the 8ah battery for cheap if you can sell the trimmer and hedge cutter.

Looks like this is the new gen 2 power head with 3 speed settings and other improvements. Not a bad deal.
This articulating hedge trimmer attachment is one of the more expensive 'normal' ones to buy standalone.

I do, actually... because I've got a ~10ft tall, 12ft+ wide bush I can't get to the top of without being on a ladder and making a sketchy lean/reach.

Can it cut palm fronds?

Is the edge trimmer comparable to the Ryobi 40V [homedepot.com]?
I already have a Ryobi mower, blower and string trimmer but I could switch to Milwaukee since most of my tools are M18 Fuel.
The Ryobi is 18" vs 20" but the pole seems longer, and I do have tall privacy plants.
Any suggestions?

We don't have those around here so I can't say... but it does claim a 1" cut capacity.

I use it to cut my Robellini palm fronds. Much thicker than that would have trouble.

The brush cutter is pretty weak. String trimmer > Brush cutter

This is considerably weaker than the EGO 56v and dewalt flexvolt 60v trimmers. I have all three and use it on my 1 acre plot.
