Oneanddone said this on the old thread, it seems useful.
"I bought both the old and new models—here's a quick comparison.
The older model is significantly larger and has a bigger fan blade, which results in much stronger airflow. From about a foot away, the new model only cools my nose area, while the old one can cool my entire face.
The new one is more compact and lightweight (136g vs. 184g), so if portability is your top priority, it's a better fit.
I fully charged both and ran them nonstop. The new one lasted about 2.5 hours on level 3 and then around 6.5 hours on level 1. The old one ran over 10.5 hours on level 1 before the battery started flashing—and its level 1 airflow is comparable to at least level 2 on the new one, with a wider coverage area.
Both models produce a similar noise level, which I don't find bothersome at all.
I personally prefer the older, larger model—it's heavier but performs much better overal"
This is a newer model than the recent front-page deal that received 250 votes from the community.
Can you get the old version deal back with your connections? I've read the thread and everyone who compared prefers the old version for being more powerful and lasting longer with the bigger battery.

Does the fan smell like charcoal afterwards?
Nope, it smells like fan. Being that the fan is made out of plastic and it has a lithium battery in it, I wouldn't recommend putting it too close to the actual coals/fire. The airflow this thing generates is strong enough that you can aim it from a safe distance and adjust the strength/speed of the fan accordingly.

IMO this is a little too loud to use as a personal cooling fan. The noise and strength of the fan are both kind of obnoxious to use on yourself long-term.

Disclaimer: This is referring to the old model. Idk how loud the one that is advertised in this post is.

Kind of odd that the OLD version's battery last longer than the new one. They both are supposed to have 4000mAh batteries. How can the new version produce less airflow AND have worse battery life with the same size battery?

Also, whoever is in charge... can you guys please decrease the price of the black fan? someone increased it to 22.99 so the price after coupon is no longer $9.99

So is that mean this newer one is smaller but produce the same amount of noise while moving much less air (and also battery last much shorter)?

So you are suffering the same amount of noise while much weaker airflow?

Yes, considering that is literally what was said, I think it is safe to say that is what it means... Did you have questions that weren't already thoroughly answered or was there still a point of clarification that needed to be rehashed from the original comment as though it was breaking new ground?

Listing a battery capacity and actually having that battery capacity are two drastically different things when you are looking at these types of off brand products. The, "old" model could very well be the same age as the, "new" model. For all we know, this brand simply bought a large quantity of this model from a factory due to supply chain issues with the, "old" model, put their logo on it, and used the marketing gimmick of calling it the, "new" model to get people to believe they are buying a product that somehow improved upon the previous iteration with zero evidence of that fact.

Also, who is it that you think is, "in charge" here that is controlling the prices of these products that you would make that request? LMAO 😂

That's the point I was trying to make. The specs for one or both of these fans are wrong. QC could also be terrible.

Couldn't think of the right words to describe them at the time. Whoever is sponsoring this post is watching! They brought back the coupon for the older model after one of us requested it.

I'm not sure you know what point you are trying to make. It doesn't actually matter what you think the specs are because this company, in all likelihood, didn't engineer or manufacturer either of these models. The most likely scenario is that they placed orders from one or more factories and had their company name printed on the product. To complain about specs, real world performance differences, or quality control issues is simply nonsensical if you go into these purchases with that understanding. This isn't a Samsung product where their own engineers develop the plans for a product and work directly with manufacturing facilities to produce very specific items with large amounts of QC involved.

I also don't think the coupon ever actually got killed off. I bought two of the models from the original post. The first one was impressive enough that I tested that promo code again even though the deal had been listed as expired for a day or so and it worked so I placed an order for the second. The Amazon seller controls the coupon codes that are active on their products, not Slickdeals staff. The fact that it was listed as expired could mean any number of things. Someone could have reported the original deal as expired after failing to copy/paste the entire code correctly or the staff member could have had an agreement with the seller that the code would work for a certain amount of time but then the seller forgot to disable it on their end.

Great it's what sold me on this, those coal starters are just as or even more expensive and are not as robust as this in specs and have one use. I received the old version today and am pretty happy with it and I think it'll work out just fine. I'm surprised how good the build quality feels in the hand

Can someone post the most recent discount cold for the old model. Cheapest I see it for is $14 with code. Like five people have posted about finding a new code, but not actually posting the code...

Ahh okay, that one brings it down to $13.50, I saw that one in the original post. I was thinking there was another/newer code that brings it down to $10 -- thank you.

it can be slightly "loud" on full blast but when it's HOT HOT out, who cares. The kids enjoyed using this while exploring a botanical garden and it was 90 out in Dallas. Well worth it. This thing is powerful and great.

I got both old and new to try and my experience reflects most others. The older is more powerful and louder (buying a fair margin I think) then the new the newer is smaller and lighter to an extent that I think it is more portable (especially if you want to do the wear around the neck thing Parting
