Personally disagree - have two of these (black and anniversary edition) and love them.

FYI, this was for 149.99 earlier this year. Picked one up price matching through Best Buy

Get this controller. It's worth it. No need to get the victrix or elite 2 (unless you want). Seriously though, really love this thing, especially for FPS games.

That's a stupid amount for a controller.

Yeah, DualSense Edge let you swap out the stick module. Sony first party replacement modules are $20, and still traditional mechanical, no hall effect.
I don't think there's non-solder 3rd party hall effect replacement full modules yet. I could be wrong.

Open-box and used/returned DualSense Edge is also often said to be victims of customers swapping out the stick modules.

Yup! I've had the edge since it released and personally no stick drift. You can also in the playstation menu though do mild modifications if you need to with controller with stick sensitivity, deadzones and trigger sensitivity (basically turn the triggers into a hair trigger). I personally have my back buttons set to l1 and r1, but many do x and o.

If you want to go a slightly cheaper route, you can buy the extremerate mod kit, and install it on a regular dualsense. It'll give you 4 back buttons and a clicky trigger stop (that works very well). You'll have to do some soldering for full functionality though (if you want to use back buttons for L3 and R3, or have the trigger stop switches automatically turn off rumble). But the soldering is not too bad. It's definitely an enthusiast project, and I ran into issues with the first one I did, and had to look up fixes on reddit. Everything worked out int the end though. You need a bit of skill, luck and patience. Granted it's not as easy as simply buying the dualsense, but it does save you quite a bit of money.

Of course, you don't get swappable thumbsticks like the dualsense edge, but on the flip side you get 4 back buttons instead of just two.
