So like, this might be a dumb question, but, I am going to upgrade from my M1 Air I bought back in 2020 and I am trying to decide between this and the new M4 Air. I did a comparison between the 15 inch M3 and M4 airs at the apple site and the only major differences I can see is that this has two less cores and the camera is worse and doesn't have center stage capabilities. And of course, the M3 chip is slower than the M4. Is that enough of a difference to get the M4 instead? I don't need the faster processing power though.

Killer deal. I've been watching these for the past month. I just pulled the trigger on the 15 inch M3.

FYI, 3 year applecare for $179 is available for the M3 at checkout. I just bought it.

My gut tells me they may sell out soon.

depends on your use case. Do you do video editing or just browse the web? M4 makes sense for futureproofing and for heavier video editing folks. Otherwise the value ratio is better on the M3.

I don't do video editing. I only do browsing the web and programming / Data Analytics / Software Engineering / Excel spreadsheets, SQL, Power BI etc etc.

The M1 is only 13.3 inches. Lately, I have been getting a popup saying I need to close things due to memory problems, and it keeps popping up until I close programs. The front camera sucks when Zooming / Teaming. Also, the trade in value is $300 at Best Buy, which I can get a gift card for.

No. Just don't do stupid shit like putting food or beverages where it can spill onto it. Or do like how I see some people doing and lifting it by one hand only at the top. If it slips, it will crash to the floor. But it is so thin and light, people think they can get away with it.

Oddly, yes. There is a tech in display link that does this if you need to add more monitors. You can find yt videos showing dongles galore to expand these computers but not always at the resolutions and refresh rates you want.
