I have been playing steady since release. It has a huge 4 player coop campaign, at least 30-40 hours of missions and side missions before you even get to end game, and end game has a lot of activities.
good story.
PVP is not recommended for beginners
even if only for story its worth 3 bucks all day.
there are tons of guns and skills to use, skills are impressive when your build is good
The loot mechanic is good but also complex and just explaining the gear unlock and mod system can take a while, but add a lot of depth to the game.

you can, in game, at any time, and a message asks you when you die, "Call for aid" or "Call for backup"
this puts you in a game wide queue to receive assistance from other player characters.
they will automatically join your game and start helping, but expect them to be FAR more powerful than you. They may also have mics you can hear.

If you try it and like it and would like an in game explainer of anything my Ubisoft name is UnusualDevices
feel free to friend me ingame and send me an invite.

The Division 2 is available on Xbox Game Pass. It was added to the service on May 27, 2025. You can access it through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. Additionally, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can stream it via cloud gaming.
Um because this will give you almost instant results (not have to sit through hours of YouTube reviews and sift through gaming forums). Plus this can open up a dialogue where he can engage in some Q&A if the guy has additional questions like how does it run or how buggy is it. With your logic, why even have remarks/questions on this site? I'm being serious here; how about people just post deals and not talk about said deal whatsoever. Does that work for you? 🤷

also not crosssave or crossplay. so if your game pass sub ends, your save is stuck unless you buy it. well worth the $3 on your client of choice. new free dlc is coming soon

Personally, I liked the first one better. But, this one is also good. The first game was more single player with some live service elements. The second game is more live service, but with some single player elements.

I found it insanely boring.
Run around and shoot npcs until they die and find new bits of gear that don't change the game much. Watch the numbers go up. Put about 10 hours in and was bored out of my mind for eight of them.

I used to log into the first Division before going to bed to knock off the easy daily missions. Got The Division 2 and played quite a bit, but while they fixed a bunch of mechanic things I didn't like in the first one, it didn't feel as interesting due to the blander setting of non-wintery DC.

In the first one, it was interesting how as time went on there'd be more people on the streets as you'd made it safer, but OTOH wassername the CO chick never got that bandage off her eye even as you reactivated the whole base and no one cleared the cars out of the streets.

I played more of the first than second Div and the problem I had was that I never really understood the interplay of perks, weapon traits (or whatever), personal skills, and when I'd look at forums and how people seemed to have calculated all the mathematical permutations in Excel whereas I just did the "this gun has higher DPS and a bigger magazine, so I'm good" thing. I never stopped feeling like I was playing it incorrectly.

It doesn't help that I have so little time for gaming and I don't know anyone who games so soloing is my only option. My skills are so rusty, too, that I wouldn't even attempt to join a group or summon an expert such as yourself. Oh well.

Thats what google, youtube, and metacritic to name a few are for.

Exactly! I have no idea why people ask that question on here. As if people here are any more credible. You're getting reviews from strangers, regardless; and you're having to wait for an answer. I will just never understand that logic (or lack of).
